Dwyer started his career in the Chicago comedy scene which really started to take shape when he was hired by the famous Chicago theater, The Second City. There he worked alongside such notable performers/writers as Adam McKay, David Koechner, Amy Sedaris, Jason Sedakis, Scott Adsit, Rachel Dratch, Stephen Colbert and many more. Dwyer eventually changed gears and began performing stand up comedy where he became a fixture in LA’s alternative rooms and nightclubs. He toured the country, released an album On The Inside Looking Out on AST Records. He wrote for such notable comedians as Nick Swardson, David Koechner (aka Champ Kind/Todd Packer) and Jonah Ray. He also directed one-person shows for comedians Rob Delaney, Josh Fadem and Matt Braunger.
Dwyer is co-producer the critically acclaimed “Painting With John,” on HBO. He has consulted Rick Rubin on an unannounced docu-series about a legendary comedian. Dwyer is most proud of his latest collaboration with Sub Pop Records and Adam McKay where he curated and produced The 11th Hour: Songs For Climate Justice. One hundred percent of the profits of the 11th Hour go to The Climate Emergency Fund.
